Across April and May of 2026, Financial Inclusion Network workshops were held at 5 locations across the state: Sydney, Newcastle, Kempsey, Dubbo and Albury. The workshops were attended by representatives from 14 different organisations including NILs officers, financial counsellors and social workers.
The workshops provided an open forum for practitioners to learn about innovation in the financial inclusion space, as well as a time for discussion and meeting with colleagues to share experience and knowledge.
A highlight of the sessions was a presentation from Gareth Evans, Co-Director of the Financial Inclusion Centre (UK) about ‘The Experiences, Challenges and Innovative Approaches to Financial Inclusion in the UK’:
