Financial Inclusion Awards

The 2nd annual Financial Inclusion Awards provide an important opportunity to recognise success stories and innovative ideas, raising the profile of financial resilience and celebrating those who are working towards it.

Award finalists will be announced prior to the conference. Winners will be announced and awards presented at the conference dinner on Thursday 3 December 2020, beginning soon after 6:30pm at the Financial Inclusion Conference venue, SMC Conference & Function Centre. Delegates wishing to attend the awards must purchase a ticket to the conference dinner.

Award nominations now open

The 2nd annual Financial Inclusion Awards are now open and are free to enter. Submit your nominations now. Nominations are open until midnight on 31 October 2020. All nominations are reviewed on a number of criteria and the overall impact on financial inclusion

The awards are designed to recognise and celebrate people, projects and organisations that have made a significant contribution to promoting Financial Inclusion in Australia. They provide organisations and individuals with an opportunity to:

  • Be recognised for efforts and achievements in the innovation of programs and services in the area of financial inclusion.
  • Raise awareness and public profile of your work through increased publicity and media exposure.
  • Network with community, government and private sector leaders throughout the Awards program and associated events including the third annual Financial Inclusion Conference held over the 18th and 19th March 2020.
  • Be recognised as an inspirational organisation or leader in the field of Financial Inclusion.
  • Help grow the Financial Inclusion movement in Australia and encourage the development of innovative ways to address poverty and social/financial exclusion.

Award categories

Financial Inclusion Excellence Award – Non Government Organisation

Award eligibility:

  • A not-for-profit organisation or body operating within the community sector.
  • Have developed and/or delivered a service/program which a new or innovative solution to addressing financial exclusion.
  • Is able to demonstrate effectiveness and impact to the community.

Financial Inclusion Excellence Award – Corporate Organisation

Award eligibility:

  • A corporate organisation.
  • Have developed and/or delivered a service/program which a new or innovative solution to addressing financial exclusion.
  • Is able to demonstrate effectiveness and impact to the community.

Financial Inclusion Excellence Award – contribution to innovative solutions

Award eligibility:

  • This award is for a program or organisation that shows innovation in a new and improved model or service to address financial inclusion.

Financial Inclusion Excellence Award – outstanding commitment by an Individual

Award eligibility:

This award recognises an individual who has shown outstanding commitment in the field of financial inclusion such as

  • Demonstrated social leadership.
  • Effectiveness and impact of their work.
  • Shown exceptional contribution and commitment through their work.

Awards process

Our Financial Inclusion Awards committee is comprised of senior professionals from a selection of organisations within the Financial Inclusion Network, including not-for-profit, academic, government, industry and other stakeholders. Initial screening of award nominations is carried out on the basis of the information received regarding the nominee. The committee may also nominate projects that they feel should be considered.
